LEWISTON The Prairie girls scored more points during their playoff game Wednesday night, Jan. 31, than Potlatch scored against them all season. Having outscored Potlatch 56-16 during the second round of the Whitepine League’s district tournament, Prairie held Potlatch to a total of 48 points in three games this year.
Individually, the 22 points Jordyn Higgins scored during the third meeting equaled Potlatch’s Jan. 13 total, while the 11 points from Leah Higgins overmatched Potlatch’s Dec. 1 output. And with 19 during the first quarter, Prairie as a team scored more than Potlatch would all game.
The victory marks the fifth consecutive season Prairie has reached the 1AD1 District II title game, which will be played at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 6 at LCSC, against the only WPL team with a longer active streak of runs to the district final.
That team, of course, is Lapwai.
