— The blood drive last week came close to their goal. They collected 66 of the 73 pints hoped for. The next drive will be April 10. Mega kudos to all the generous people who gave blood. How about you? There is always a need so consider giving next time. Call Brenda at St. Mary’s Hospital to make an appointment — 208-962-3251.

Greencreek Altar Society yard sale is scheduled for March 17. Mark your calendar for this early spring yard sale which always has a lot to offer. Any questions, contact Connie Killmar at 208-983-0732.

Help wanted: Christ the King Preschool and Daycare is seeking a joyful, dedicated and preferably experienced child care provider. Part-time, Monday through Friday, year-round. If interested, e-mail resume. More info? 208-962-3363 or preschool@summitacademyid.com

Attention Knights of Columbus: The Knights of Columbus Insurance Agent will be in Cottonwood Thursday evening, Feb. 22, through noon on Saturday, Feb. 24. If you would like him to see you, call him direct at 360-643-3087 (cell) or 844-370-1856.

Lenten Night begins with 6 p.m. Mass on Tuesday, Feb. 13. Note the Mass time is 1/2 hour earlier than the normal Tuesday evening Mass schedule. Lenten Night is sponsored by Prairie Faith Formation Program. Mass will be followed by activities for the family to prepare for Lent. We are also serving a pancake dinner. All are welcome!

Sunday, Feb 25th will be the Holy Cross/St. Mary’s Dinner to be held at Keuterville Hall. Chairpersons this year are Heath & Tara Klapprich and Shirley Gehring. Glenn Poxleitner will chair the raffle. This is always a home-cooked meal that everyone enjoys. If you have never been there, give it a try!

The fourth Annual Purse Auction is April 29. The theme is “A Country Affair: His, Hers and Ours.” This year we are moving slightly away from just purses and offering other larger items. Donations from local craftsmen and local businesses in Idaho County should entice the entire family. Items include Craftsman tools, baby quilts, wine and hand-painted glasses, a Clint Eastwood menagerie, horse hair pottery, blankets and books for the kids just to name a few selections. If you would like to make a monetary donation or donate items contact Colleen Sonnen, chairperson. Remember to save the date April 29th at the Cottonwood Community Hall. Come eat lunch, browse the items and enjoy a lively auction. All proceeds stay in Idaho County and service the victims of domestic and sexual abuse. The administrator is Kristi who is our local YWCA representative. If you would like more information on how we serve victims, contact Colleen. Items can be dropped off at the Hangout or Prairie Elementary School.

Happy Valentine’s Day to you! Don’t forget to do your Valentine shopping for your sweetheart!

Check the Facebook page for Cottonwood Butte Ski Area to find out if they will be open this coming weekend. It depends on the weather.

Happy 101st birthday to Andrew Riener on Saturday, Feb. 10.
