— Here we are a week away from Valentine’s Day…have you been thinking of something for that special one or are you stumped? Check out Canyon House as they have some really nice items or unique ones for your special person.

Then on Saturday, Feb. 10, at Hoot’s Café, starts the dinner (charge is separate) and the fireman’s ball, with all proceeds going to the volunteer fire departments around the area. All the fun begins at 5 p.m., with a $5 raffle at the door with Dave, Joaquin and Verna playing all your favorites to dance to. Auctions and the Rebekah Sweetheart basket will be held throughout the evening. White Bird now has a fresh crew for the volunteer fire department. Congratulations!

Red’s Café will be offering a prime rib special on the 14th if you have the notion to not cook, let them do it for you. You can get a 12 oz. prime rib, loaded baked potato, green beans with bacon, red velvet cake all for $23.95/plate. Call 208-839-9977 for reservations. You have a choice of 5, 6, or 7 p.m., settings.

The chamber will be meeting on the 8th so come by at 10:30 a.m., at the Baptist church if you wish to see what we are all about. We are needing some people to step up and run for the vice president, secretary, and treasurer positions. We have been working very hard and need the community to help or we may be forced to close it down. If this happens, there will be no getting this back and it would be a big loss as we do have many activities throughout the year that benefit from this organization.

Gun Club’s fourth week saw 20 shooters braving the cloudy and wet weather. Scoring a 25 was Boyd Hopkins, 24s were shot by Bill McMahon, Jay Frazier, Jim McMahon, Joaquin Lowe and Paul Van Acker. In the youth division was Kaycen Sickels shooting a 20. Keep up the great work.

Cribbage winners were Lydia Crane and Jerry Mackey.

Pinochle winner was Renee.

Upcoming meetings are SRAG on the 8th at 10 a.m., with the chamber at 10:30 a.m. Then on the 12th will be the WBARD meeting at 7 p.m. City Council will meet on the 14th at 6 p.m.

Birthday wishes go out to Guy Ellibee (5th), Jan Barany, Larry Barany (6th), Scott Hagen, Mathew (7th), Janet Klement, Daryl K. Mullinix (8th), and Tate Stowers (10th).

Anniversary wishes go out to Beth & Doug Plagmann (10th).
