Blood drive set for Grangeville Feb. 22

GRANGEVILLE — The upcoming Inland Northwest Blood Drive sponsored by Syringa Hospital and Clinics will be Thursday, Feb. 22, from noon – 5:30 p.m. at the Grangeville Armory. GHS class of 2018 to hold yard sale, breakfast: Donations sought

GRANGEVILLE — GHS Class of 2018 Senior Fun Night will hold a yard sale Saturday, March 17, and will continue through the Senior Breakfast at the Eagles Sunday, March 18. A baked food sale will also be held the 18th.

Donations for the yard sale can be dropped off at 427 East North 3rd Street (front of the shop anytime). Call if donations need picked up — 208-507-0954.

March 9 set for GOP’s annual Lincoln Day Dinner

GREENCREEK – The annual Lincoln Day Dinner will be held Friday, March 9, at the Greencreek Community Hall. The event starts with a 5 p.m. social hour and silent auction, dinner at 6 and a forum for the five candidates for lieutenant governor at 7 p.m. Candidates for state through local offices will also be introduced.

The event is sponsored by the Republican central committees for Idaho and Lewis counties.

Prairie High School reunion set for July 14

COTTONWOOD – July 14 is the date set to meet at the Cottonwood City Park at 11 a.m. All Prairie High School classes are welcome as well as friends from the former St. Gertrude’s Academy.

Bring a snack of choice, beverage and lawn chair. Tableware will be provided. Also bring memories, pictures and yearbooks.

Pizza and Politics event is Feb. 16

GRANGEVILLE — Pizza and Politics, the savory combination of good food, socializing and lively discussion, will be held at The Gallery (in Grangeville) on Friday night, Feb. 16, starting at 5:30 p.m. An array of pizza choices will be available with an open, no-host bar for beer, wine and soft drinks. There is no charge for this function and the public is invited. An insider’s view and update of the 2018 Idaho Legislature will be provided by Kelsey Dillon and Rep. Melissa Winthrop, both of Boise. Their introductory comments will be followed by a question-and-answer session,

MVSD to hold public meetings regarding March 13 $3 million levy

Mountain View School District 244 will be host to public meetings regarding the upcoming levy.

The maintenance and operation levy for $3,090,48 will be held Tuesday, March 13.

Public meetings will be held Tuesday, March 6, 6 p.m., Clearwater Valley High School in Kooskia, and Wednesday, March 7, 6 p.m., Grangeville High School.

The Hitmen to perform at SHF Gala; tickets available

GRANGEVILLE — Syringa Hospital Foundation invites the public to its 25th Annual Gala Fund-raiser (formerly called Festival of Trees) to be held at the Grangeville Event Center (at The Gym), 1005 Highway 13, Grangeville, on Saturday, Feb. 24.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. to heavy hors d’oeuvres, a no-host bar and free champagne for the first hour. Silent auction will open at 7 p.m. and live music by The Hitmen will begin at 8 p.m.

Admission is $35 in advance and $40 at the door. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at Lindsley’s Home Furnishings, Syringa Business Office, Syringa Primary Care Clinic, and Syringa Kooskia Clinic.

VFW sponsors breakfast at Vets Center

GRANGEVILLE — Veterans of Foreign Wars Crea-DeHaven Post 3520 sponsors the bi-monthly free breakfast for veterans and their families held on the second and fourth Saturdays at the Idaho County Veterans Outreach and Community Center, 318 East Main in Grangeville. The next breakfast will be Feb. 25 from 8 to 10 a.m. All veterans are invited to drop in for a breakfast of eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy.

American Legion Post No. 75 Bingo set for Friday

KAMIAH – American Legion Post No. 75 will be host to Bingo this Friday, Feb. 16, 7:30 p.m., at the American Legion Hall, 618 Main Street.

GRANGEVILLE – A free kids clothing swap is set for this Sunday, Feb. 18, 2-5 p.m., at the Grangeville Seventh Day Adventist Church at 280 Highway 95 North. Bring clothes to swap.

Clearwater Meal Center luncheon is Feb. 21

CLEARWATER – The Clearwater Meal Center’s next luncheon is set for Wednesday, Feb. 21, noon. Meals are served the first and third Wednesdays of each month at the Clearwater Baptist Church. No charge for the luncheon, $5 donation appreciated when possible. All are welcome. Call 926-7776.

Community prayer walk on tap for Feb. 25

GRANGEVILLE – A School and Community Prayer Walk is set for Sunday, Feb. 25, 3 p.m. Meet at the Grangeville Elementary Middle School Main entrance. Everyone is invited.

The group will walk from GEMS to Sts. Peter and Paul School to Grangeville High School and back to GEMS. All walks of faith are invited. Prayer will be lifted up for schools, teachers, administration, students and community.
