The Grangeville cheer squad took first place in several competitive events at Orofino last week. They topped following events: Show Routine, Group Stunt, Co-ed Partner Stunt and All Girl Partner Stunt. Their competition season continues at the District I-II state qualifier to be held Feb. 24 at Lakeland High School in Rathdrum.

“Hunter Robinson and Cierra Mundell have been contacted by North Idaho College and given letters of invitation outlining the scholarship opportunities available and inviting them to their tryouts,” coach Renita Lee told the Free Press. “I explained to the cheer recruiter that they still had a year or two left in high school, but they wanted to get their name in the hat early.”
