Traffic stop ends in felony firearm, DUI charges

— A Feb. 23 preliminary hearing is set for a Kamiah woman, arraigned Monday on felony charges resulting from a Friday night traffic stop in Kooskia.

Tonna Funderburg, 45, is charged with felony DUI and unlawful possession of a firearm, along with additional misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

Funderburg was arrested Feb. 9 following a traffic stop on Pine Street by Idaho County Deputy Sam AuGello. According to an Idaho County Sheriff’s Office release, AuGello observed Funderburg initially driving on Ridgewood Road, and initiated a stop as he knew she did not hold a valid driver’s license.

During the contact, Funderburg was exhibiting signs of being under the influence of narcotics and was requested to take standardized field sobriety tests.

According to ICSO Lieutenant Doug Ulmer, he reminds the public, “Driving under the influence of narcotics, prescription or otherwise, is just as dangerous as driving under the influence of alcohol and is a violation of Idaho Code 18-8004.”
