Attention environmentalists: Let’s consider the following facts from the U.S. Census Bureau
The United States’ population is growing at about four million per year. That’s 11,000 a day!
Of that 11,000 per day, about 3,000 is legal immigration, and the remaining 8,000 is birthrate.
At its present rate of growth, our population is doubling every 70-80 years.
Due mostly to today’s drastically increased life spans, any average couple, who has more than one child, is causing a net increase in our population.
And here are just some of the estimated items of waste and consumption that a single American child born today will be responsible for over his or her lifetime: 1,100 tons of solid waste; 10,000 tons of liquid waste; 750 tons of minerals; 140,000 gallons of oil (more than 2,500 barrels).
So, how many children have you had? And have you ever been encouraging others?
Compared to simply having fewer children, all your well-intentioned efforts like “recycling” or buying expensive little “hybrid” cars, etc., are pretty much flatulating in the wind … treating the symptoms and not the cause.
And you’ll note that I have not mentioned illegal immigration numbers. The Census Bureau doesn’t estimate those numbers, and those numbers would add to the 11,000 per day!
