For those of you out-of-towners, Elk City got more than a foot of snow this past weekend!

For those history buffs, the Idaho County Historic Preservation Commission will be presenting a talk by Cort Conley on either Friday, May 11 or May 18, about the people and places along the Lower Salmon River. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up so you can tentatively put it on your calendar.

Another passing of a former longtime resident of Elk City: Trent Woods died Feb. 12, 2018, in Shattuck, Okla. He was born Oct. 17, 1929, in Arnett, Okla. He served on the board of trustees for Joint School District 241 for 21 years while residing here. After retiring, they moved to Shattuck, Okla. You can read more about his life by going to http://www.shawfuneralhome.net/obituary/anson-woods.
