Five Bulldogs, 21 local wrestlers Pocatello-bound

— Grangeville’s delegation includes three district champions: Blake Courtney (145), Brandon Stump (220) and Parker Walters (285), as well as runner-up Caleb Barger (113) and third-placer Chase Adkison (195).

Also qualifying out of the District I-II tournament last Saturday, Feb. 17, were Clearwater Valley (9 wrestlers), Kamiah (5) and Prairie (2).

CV’s representation includes district champion Carson Morrow (152), runners-up Landon Olsen (98), Christian Fabbi (126), Bubba Summers (160) and Ty Dominguez (170) and third-placers Tristin Dominguez (120), Cedar Fisher (145), Davis McElroy (160) and Lane Schilling (170).

District champion Peyton Whipple (182) and district runner-up Mike MacMenamin (120) head Kamiah’s contingent, which includes third-placers Johnnie Raymond (113), Brody MacCord (138) and Layten Gould (220).

Prairie’s Jace Perrin (182) and Sierra McWilliams (106) both earned state qualification with third-place finishes at districts.

State tournament weigh-ins begin at 8:30 a.m. MT Friday, Feb. 23, at Holt Arena in Pocatello, with action scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. MT and continue into that evening. Action is set to resume at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 24.
