The local Eagles Aerie No. 539 was host to the annual Kids Christmas Sale Saturday, Dec. 16, in Grangeville. With donations from the community, Eagles and volunteer assistance from members and the Grangeville High School cheerleaders, local children were able to purchase affordable gifts for their families. Shirley Crane is in charge of the yearly event.

Grangeville Senior Citizens
Stanley Modrell opened the Dec. 29, 2017 meeting of the Grangeville Senior Citizens with the Pledge of Allegiance and the prayer was given by Shirley Crane. The winner of the free dinner drawing was Charley Spangler. There were 74 meals served at the center and 38 hot and 76 frozen meals were home delivered. There were no guests this day. Pinochle winners: Beth Parish and Mary Purdy tied for first place with 4,600 each and Dolores Kindall was second with 4,120.

Pioneer Senior Citizens
There was no meeting of the Pioneer Senior Citizens on Tuesday, Dec. 26, due to the Christmas holiday. The next meeting will be Tuesday, Jan. 9.
Seniors wanting to go to Lewiston to shop or to doctor’s appointments and don’t want to drive, call Coast driver Katie Manifold, 509-397-2935.
Come join us for a meal every Tuesday for a small donation at the Pioneer Senior Center in the Cottonwood Community Hall basement. Meals are served at 12 noon.
