A smile, a pat, a kind word. Anne Galloway’s job in housekeeping is more than keeping rooms clean and tidy.
“I love these people,” she smiled.
Galloway has worked in housekeeping for the past five years. When she moved to Idaho County more than 20 years ago, she lived in Cottonwood then moved to Grangeville. She and her husband raised a daughter here. Her husband died several years back, but it doesn’t change how she feels about living here, she said.
“I love this area. It’s a wonderful place to raise a child and be involved in the community,” she said.
Galloway not only gets to see residents on a daily basis as she cleans their rooms, but she also works in laundry.
“It’s busy and it’s a good job,” she said. “The bosses here are the best, and so are all the people I work with.”
Galloway said she feels the care residents receive at GHR is exemplary.
“I see how these people here are loved and cared for and it’s wonderful,” she smiled. “The residents definitely come first.”
When she isn’t working, Galloway enjoys reading but she has a little larger of a hobby, as well.
“I have 130 plants indoors and I love to garden outdoors, as well. I guess I have a green thumb,” she laughed.
