It’s uplifting and refreshing to see the Free Press editorial [Jan. 10 issue] on pot legalization. The myopic view exhibited by both federal and local government has wasted billions of dollars enforcing uneducated, myopic and head-stuck-in-the-sand legal decisions. Those same billions could be put to intelligent use, such as the Canyon County Jail. That situation would be comedic if it weren’t so pathetic in the lack of action on the part of lawmakers, who appear to this relative newcomer to be chickens with their heads cut off, running around with little or no idea of how to fix the problem, yet making plenty of noise.
And that’s only one of one county’s problems, yet how much time has been frivolously spent accomplishing nothing to resolve it?
