— Full service dog grooming is now conveniently located at Camas Veterinary Hospital.

Sara Corder started off last year as a veterinarian’s assistant for Dr. Phil Volkman.

“I’ve always loved animals, so it was a good fit,” she said.

Corder previously lived in Orofino and worked as a dog groomer for six years. She learned from a groomer in Lewiston.

“Dr. Volkman is off Wednesdays, so I started grooming here just one day a week,” she explained.

Soon, the demand for grooming was so high, the clinic hired Linnea Wood as the veterinary assistant and Corder was able to go into the grooming end full time.

“It’s definitely been busy, but it’s also more flexible, which is nice with a family,” she said. She and fiancé Cody Vrieling have a daughter, Paislee, 2.

Corder is able to offer all the various cuts for all dog breeds and her services include ear cleaning, bathing, anal gland expression and toenail trims as well. She is also able to groom cats.

“I don’t have as much experience with cats, but I have groomed them and I know their skin is thinner and it’s a different experience,” she said. Being right at the veterinary clinic, there is also the ability to sedate an animal, if it is necessary, to groom, she added.

To make an appointment with Corder, call Camas Veterinary Hospital at 208-983-0508. The office is located at 24 Truck Route, Grangeville. Also, find her on Facebook at Grooming with Sara at Camas Veterinary Hospital.
