— Well, it’s been a rough week for Elk City families and the community in general. We lost three longtime residents in a matter of a week. We lost Shirley Biggers on the 19th, then Shannon Seeley on the 24th at age 87, and lastly, Betty Nitz on the 25th at age 82.

There was a remembrance service for Shannon Seeley at the Baptist Church on Sunday, but a memorial service will be held sometime next summer at the Elk City Park to which the community is invited.

There will be a memorial service for Betty Nitz, Feb. 10, at 2 p.m., at the Baptist church. A potluck will follow. The community is invited.

You will be able to read about their lives in the obituary section of the paper, otherwise I would be telling it here. Pray for the families.

The VFW’s annual Valentine’s Day Dinner will be held Saturday, Feb. 10. More details next week.

Meetings: Water & Sewer Annual meeting on Feb. 2 at 7:30 p.m.

Anniversaries: Colt and Krystyne Sherrer.

Birthdays: Thom Parker and Scott Farmer.
