Webb's 2.6 breakaway catch holds up through slack time

Unofficially, breakaway roper Sarah Morrissey had one of the quickest catches of the 2018 Grangeville Border Days Rodeo during slack time Thursday morning, July 5. Though she was quick out of the gate on the way to stopping the clock in 3.4 seconds, the time to beat Thursday night was still the 2.6 Kalena Webb posted (unofficially) on Wednesday night, July 4. Action continues at 6 p.m. July 5 and 6 p.m. July 6.

After one night of July 4 rodeo action and some slack time runs Thursday morning, July 5, the breakaway roping catch in 2.6 seconds by Kalena Webb was unofficially still the best of this Border Days. Unofficially leading other events after one night were: bareback rider Ty Jones (83 points), ranch bronc rider Kent Batton (78), saddle bronc rider Danny Aliers (79), steer wrestler Dave Maddox (6.2 seconds), team ropers Justin Farber / Calgary Smith (6.4), local team ropers Doug Boggan / Gene Roth (14.6), barrel racer Jerita Belyea (18.342), local barrel racer Kaylee Page (19.743) and bull rider Jordan Paddock (61).

Competition resumes at 6 p.m. Thursday night, July 5, and concludes at 6 p.m. Friday, July 6.
