Eimers graduates MSU

BOZEMAN, Mont. – Anne Eimers of Grangeville was among the 1,561 Montana State University undergraduates who received diplomas during MSU’s 2018 spring commencement ceremony held May 5 in Brick Breeden Fieldhouse.

Eimers was among those undergraduate students to graduate with honors. To qualify for graduation with honors, students must possess a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 to 3.69.

Prairie High School reunion set for July 14

COTTONWOOD – July 14 is the date set to meet at the Cottonwood City Park at 11 a.m. All Prairie High School classes are welcome as well as friends from the former St. Gertrude’s Academy.

Bring a snack of choice, beverage and lawn chair. Tableware will be provided. Also bring memories, pictures and yearbooks.

Health screenings set for Grangeville Aug. 2

GRANGEVILLE – Health screenings will be available for area residents through Life Line Screening on Thursday, Aug. 2, at 108 Truck Route, Grangeville (Grangeville Senior Citizens Center). Screenings can check for the level of plaque buildup in arteries, HDL and LDL cholesterol levels, diabetes risk, bone density and kidney and thyroid functions.

Kooskia Days Show and Shine, raffle, set for July 28

KOOSKIA – Kooskia Days Show and Shine and Raffle is set for Saturday, July 28, at Kooskia City Park.

There is a $10 entry fee and sign-ups begin at 8 a.m. Dash plaques are available to the first 40 entries. A raffle will be held at noon. Best in show trophies will be presented at 3 p.m.

The event is sponsored by the Clearwater Classics Car Club. All proceeds from the event will go to the Lewiston Veterans Home.

Jumpstart Kindergarten classes are on

GRANGEVILLE – Jumpstart Kindergarten classes for students entering Grangeville Elementary Middle School in the fall.

Classes began July 9 and will run through July 29; some places are still open. Jumpstart is Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and includes free lunch.

Clearwater Meal Center luncheon set for July 18

CLEARWATER – The Clearwater Meal Center’s next luncheon is set for Wednesday, July 18, noon. Barbecue sandwich, macaroni salad, baked beans and dessert will be served. Meals are served the first and third Wednesdays of each month at the Clearwater Baptist Church. No charge for the luncheon, $5 donation appreciated when possible. All are welcome. Call 208-926-7776.

Stites Days is July 13 and 14

STITES — Stites Days kicks off Friday night, July 13, with the theme “Stites America - Small Town USA.” Both horseshoe singles ($15 fee) at the vacant lot next to the Silver Dollar and Bingo at the Park begin at 6 p.m. Bingo 25 cents per card; bring your own chair. Festivities continue Saturday with breakfast at the city park from 7-9 a.m., followed by horseshoe doubles, a parade (10 a.m.), basketball, kids games, benefit raffle, duck race, raft race, ATV poker run and live music and jam session.
