Grangeville Senior Citizens

Stan Modrell opened the July 9 meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and Pastor Tom Helmick offered the prayer. Pastor Tom was also the winner of the free dinner drawing. 52 meals were served at the site with 29 hot meals home delivered. The board meeting was held July 10. Pinochle Winners: Stan Modrell, first with 4,680 and Liz Hauger, second with 3,890.

Stan Modrell opened the July 11 meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and Sarah Carver gave the prayer. James Lawyer was the winner of the free dinner drawing. 41 meals were served at the site and 26 hot meals were home delivered. Six-handed pinochle was played and was a lot of fun.

Stan Modrell opened the July 13 meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and Barbara Henderson offered the prayer. Carol Asker won the free dinner drawing. 64 meals were served at the site and 28 hot meals were home delivered. Kristin Collum, candidate for Lt. Governor, was our guest. Pinochle Winners: Jane Burgess, first with 3,970 and Delores Kindall, second with 3,520.

Menu for July 20: Roast Turkey, Mashed Potatoes w/Gravy, Mixed Vegetables, Green Salad w/Dressing, Apple Cobbler and Roll.

Menu for July 23: Barbecued Beef on Bun, Potato Salad, Carrot Raisin/Pineapple Salad, Fruit Salad and Cookie.

Menu for July 25: Chicken Teriyaki, Rice, Broccoli/Cauliflower, Green Salad w/Dressing, Pears and Roll.

Pioneer Senior Citizens meet

Gabbie Rehder opened the July 10 meeting of the Pioneer Senior Citizens with the Pledge of Allegiance and also led the dinner prayer.

There were no visitors.

There were 43 meals served and 19 deliveries.

Bob Talbott won the free dinner.

Sylvia Forsmann won the nickel Bingo pot with Theresa Funke and Sally Duman splitting the BING pot and Anna Gehring winning the blackout.

Door Prize winners were Ella Schaeffer, Barb Rehder, Irene Terhaar, Eldon Anglen, Lorraine Nuxoll and Ron Sonnen.

Seniors wanting to go to Lewiston to shop or doctor’s appointments and don’t want to drive, call Coast driver Katie Manifold at 509-397-2935.

Come join us for a meal every Tuesday for a small donation at the Pioneer Senior Center in the Cottonwood Community Hall basement. Meals are served at 12 noon.
