— More Elk City Days events: As stated last week, our theme is Honoring Law Enforcement. Our grand marshals are the following people: Terry Beeler, Tracy Bonner, Mike Chlebowski, Larry Dasenbrock, Stan Denham, Steve Didier, Pat Doyl, Curtis Jones, Herb Lindsey, Bob Maguire, Scott Paulson, Sam Stamper, Steve Stoneking, and Bob Taylor. Some of these folks worked in our community in a law enforcement capacity, others worked elsewhere, then came here to live. Thank you all!

Saturday, Aug. 10, starts the festivities with the VFW Auxiliary Breakfast from 7 to 10:30 a.m. For the kids is the ping pong ball drop at 9 a.m. at the Elk City Airport. Then comes the grand parade at 11 a.m. (registration is next to the post office at 10:30 a.m.)

The Logging Show and Competition will start at 1 p.m. featuring a rolling pin toss, wood splitting, choker setting, and crosscut & power saw events. The kids’ sawdust dig is from 1-6 p.m. in the VFW parking lot. The Vintage Quilt Raffle drawing is at 4:15 p.m.

Dr. Griffis from Syringa Hospital will be at the Medical Clinic Aug. 2. Patients can call the Primary Care Clinic at 208-983-8590 to make an appointment. Sorry about the wrong telephone number in the paper last week.

Anniversaries: Tom and Carol Moore

Birthdays: Hank Tow (I misspelled Josiah Montgomery as Joshua Montgomery – sorry about that).
