COTTONWOOD The Idaho County Fair Royalty committee is seeking young ladies ages 14 to 18 interested in participation in the 2018-2019 royalty program. Girls must be going into their sophomore through senior years of high school. Deadline for applicants is July 2.
The competition includes the required contestant picnic July 11; a catered luncheon set for July 25, and participation in the fashion show on Aug 15, and the crowning on Aug 17.
During the luncheon on July 25, participants are asked to give a two-to-three minute speech and will have a personal interview with three judges from outside Idaho County. Candidates must complete an application which is part of the judging, write and present their speech, and be interviewed.
All candidates need to have two years of experience with the fair either through 4-H or through entries in open class.
The queen is awarded a $450 scholarship and each princess is awarded $350. There is also an expense account to help with clothing, float and other costs during their reign.
