— Does this cool, wet weather have you dreaming of Christmas? You’re in luck, the Clearwater Christmas Affair, Christmas in July event is coming up Friday-Saturday, July 13-14, at the American Legion Hall in Kamiah. They are looking for vendors who want to have a booth at the event. An 8-by-10 foot booth space costs $30 while an 8-by-5 foot booth costs $15. Many craft fairs this time of year are outdoors, but this one is indoors, so you can leave things set up and not have to worry about the weather. Check out Clearwater Christmas Affair on Facebook for photos of past events. Vendors can pick up a registration form at Ace Hardware at 403 Main Street in Kamiah.

I’ve been wondering for a while when I drive through Stites, when the city would replace the peeling, baby blue paint on the City Hall building. Imagine my surprise when I stopped for a Tuscan Sun pizza at the Silver Dollar on Friday to look across the street and see a freshly painted Stites City Hall, a nice neutral putty color with bright red doors. I’m not sure what prompted this, but it sure looks nice.

The farmers’ market season is in full swing with the second week of the Kooskia Farmers’ Market on Thursday at Kooskia City Park and the opening day of the Grangeville Farmers’ Market on Saturday at Pioneer Park. Both markets will continue until fall. You can check out Facebook pages for both markets for recent photos and the latest information.
