— Another great celebration is in the books...I hope everyone enjoyed our little town get-together. Wow, 40 years have now passed for White Bird Days and 29 for the rodeo. The weather held and with it being a little cooler...perfect weather. Thanks to all the volunteers and anyone who helped in any way to make this another success - your help is always greatly appreciated.

As we near the end of the month, it is going to seem pretty quiet after the big weekend; maybe recoup and relax for the next event.

As we near the end of June (already), don’t forget to get your tickets for the 2nd Annual Crawdad Boil on Saturday, June 30. Gates open at 4 p.m., and will continue until they are gone. Presale tickets are $20/person or $25 at the door. You can call 208-839-9993 to pre-order. This is sponsored by Silver Dollar Bar, Hank Gosnell Automotive, Kryptek, Erb’s Ace Hardware, and our hometown organizations, Royal Gem Rebekahs, American Legion White Bird Post No. 152, and the Idaho County Veterans Assn. Call Walt Lindsey at 208-839-2457 or 208-404-8571, Homer Brown at 208-315-2293 for more information.

WBARD News

WHITE BIRD – The new parking lot has been sprayed for weeds and the men will start hauling rock and gravel soon to finish the project.

We are planning on reroofing the building and are looking for bids.

Thanks to Mother Nature raining on a regular basis, we have not had to irrigate the fields and park yet. Sprinklers will go up after July 4.

The baseball field is ready for games now.

There will be a Southern Cajun Crawdad Boil at the park June 30, 4 p.m. It is a fund-raiser for the White Bird American Legion Post No. 152. Come on down y’all and have a good time.

— Gloria Teats
