GRANGEVILLE Criminal charges are pending against a juvenile alleged to have stolen a tip jar from Pizza Factory earlier this month.
“Surveillance cameras and witnesses were instrumental in identifying the suspect,” said Grangeville Police Chief Morgan Drew. During a two-day investigation, approximate $150 in cash was recovered by officers.
The incident occurred June 12 at approximately 1:30 p.m. Officer Chris Williams was dispatched, and he was able to identify the juvenile involved, who was cited for theft, and a portion of the cash from the tip jar was recovered. The following day, Drew was contacted by a resident in the area of Bell Equipment who had located the broken tip jar behind their house and recovered more of the money, which they turned over to him.
