Felony vehicular manslaughter charged in 2017 Woodland crash that claimed Kamiah woman

Court hearing on the matter is pending

A former Kamiah resident has been charged with felony vehicular manslaughter in connection with a fatality crash at Woodland last fall.

As of press time, a court hearing on the matter is pending for Cord E. Wilson, 27.

The charge resulted from a Sept. 12, 2017, single-vehicle accident that occurred on Woodland Road. Tracy Ann Schiedler, 42, of Kamiah, died at the scene due to injuries suffered in the crash.

According to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office accident report, Wilson was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado pickup with passengers Schiedler, an unidentified juvenile, and Alicia Crume, 40, of Kamiah, northbound on Woodland Road. Approximately eight miles from U.S. Highway 12, Wilson lost control of the vehicle that went off the road and traveled around 150 feet down an embankment. None of the occupants was wearing a seat belt.

In their charge, investigators allege Wilson had a .160 blood alcohol level – twice the legal limit – and was driving the vehicle in a reckless manner. “Actions by the defendant,” according to the criminal complaint, “were a significant cause contributing to her [Schiedler’s] death.”

At the time of the crash, Wilson had a Paul, Idaho, address but was living at a motel in Kamiah. His current residency is Williston, N.D.
