As of Tuesday, June 26, 2018
The Salmon River Ranger District of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests will be conducting bridge replacement work on Forest Service road (FSR) 309 (Hungry Ridge Road) that will require a road closure at the project site for most of the summer.
Mill Creek Bridge, located at mile .9 of FSR 309, is being replaced by a concrete bridge to address rotting timber on the current structure. The new bridge will also have a longer span, allowing Mill Creek to flow unconstricted.
Construction of the new bridge is scheduled to begin July 9, at which time FSR 309 will be closed for several hundred feet on either side of the bridge. Most of Hungry Ridge Road can still be accessed via FSR 221 (Grangeville–Salmon Road) during this bridge replacement project.
