White Bird

White Bird

— It’s the end of the month and I hope summer has begun. Temperatures are warming up, people are firing up the BBQs and spending time at the beaches.

Remember the American Legion Crawdad Boil will be on Saturday, June 30, starting at 4 p.m. ’til gone. More information can be had by calling Walt Lindsey at 208-404-8571.

Something new for those who like to walk is the one mile “walking tour of White Bird.” This is a self-guided tour and pamphlets can be found at Canyon House or City Hall. It starts at the city park and continues through town. Contact, Barb Lowe at 208-839-2444 for information.

Do you enjoy music? If so, come kick back and listen to the Summer Concert Series that will be starting at the city park in Grangeville. Concerts are held every Thursday night at 6 p.m. Bring your own lawn chairs, blankets and picnic dinners. Dogs are not allowed in the park. The first concert will be the Vintage Youth on July 12. July 19 will be The Hankers from Oaksdale, Wash., July 26 will be Muzzy Braun out of Stanley, Idaho, and then will end with Dodgy Mountain Men from Missoula. Sounds like it will be some great listening for the month of July.

Birthday wishes go out to Beth Plagmann, Rachael Claar (24th), Jonna Holthaus (25th). Tammy Battles, Dianna Bunting, Amy Buss, Emily Gennis, Ryan Hoene (27th), Gabriel, Bryden Pineda (28th), Dale Clark, Josh West, Bryan Lowe, Trace Chandler (29th), and Elizabeth Marek, Roy Farmer, Trayven Sickels, Mike Tilley (30th).

Anniversary wishes go to Matt & Carol Fee (25th), Roy & Cody Farmer, Todd & Heather Cullin (26th), and Mike & Lynne Fredrickson (27th).

Condolences go out to the families and friends of Rodney Pilant. Many knew him and he will be greatly missed.

This is a short week with an early deadline again on Friday, so the paper can get out in time for the 4th of July. If you have any news that you want mentioned - give me a call at 208-983-7701 or e-mail it to Next month will still be busy and I will also be going on vacation so keep watching for information to be added.
