Democrats to meet March 12

GRANGEVILLE — Idaho County Democrats will gather Monday, March 12, at the Grangeville Senior Citizens Center (on the truck route). Doors will open at 6 p.m. with an opportunity for socializing before the business meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. This will be the third phase of the reorganization process including the selection of new officers and discussion of 2018 events and goals. American Legion to host dinner, benefit April 14

GRANGEVILLE — The Grangeville American Legion Post is sponsoring its first benefit dinner and silent auction which will be held April 14 at the Idaho County Veterans and Community Outreach Center.

This event will feature a dinner, music and silent auction. The doors will open at 5 p.m. for happy hour, followed by dinner at 6 p.m. The silent auction will take place throughout the evening, and close at 8 p.m. To bid on silent auction items, but not purchase dinner, guests are welcome after 7 p.m. Tickets are limited to 60 guests at $20 apiece

The proceeds from this event will help the Grangeville American Legion Post 37 with programs.

Tickets are available at the center.

Youth dance slated for March 9 in Kamiah

KAMIAH — The Youth Advisory Board (YAB) of the Upriver Youth Leadership Council (UYLC) is hosting a community St. Patrick’s Day Dance on Friday, March 9, at the Kamiah Legion Hall from 7 to 11 p.m. This event is for grades 7-12. Admission will be $3 for singles and $5 for couples, which will be collected at the front doors of the Legion Hall. Residents of the following communities are encouraged to participate: Nezperce, Kooskia, Cottonwood, Grangeville, Stites and Lapwai. There will be a limbo contest and a best leprechaun outfit contest. Teens are encouraged to wear St. Patrick’s Day attire.

‘Music Night’ is March 10 at GHS

GRANGEVILLE — “Music Night and Auction” is set for Saturday, March 10, at Grangeville High School. The money raised will benefit the music program in the middle and high schools.

The doors will open at 5 p.m. with dinner, raffle and music. The music will be throughout the night from Grangeville high and middle school bands and choirs. There will be a silent auction throughout the night, with the live auction starting around 7 p.m. Advanced tickets may be purchased for $20 per person or $35 for two, on sale now. Tickets may also be available at the door for $25 per person. Tickets are available at Central Idaho Agency, Likkel Insurance, GHS office, GEMS office or call 253-678-5757 (Ms. Rasmussen).

VEST Fest III to support CV schools

KOOSKIA – VEST (Valley Educators Support Team) Fest lll, a fund-raiser dinner and auction to support Kooskia schools, is set for Saturday, March 10, at the Kooskia Community Center.

Doors open at 5 p.m. and the dinner is set for 7 p.m. with the auction to follow, with a suggested entry donation of $20 per person. Tickets are available at Clearwater Valley high and elementary schools.

Princess Tea Party on tap for March 17

COTTONWOOD — Mark your calendars for the “Little Princess Tea Party” presented by the Idaho County Fair Royalty.

The event will be held Saturday, March 17, at the Prairie Elementary School Cafeteria, 1916 East St Cottonwood. The party will run from 1 to 4 p.m. Cost is $8 for the princesses, ages 4 years to 4th grade. The little princesses need to be accompanied by an adult. Wear princess or party dresses. Pictures will be taken and available or bring your own camera.

American Legion meeting is today

GRANGEVILLE — American Legion Post 37 will meet today, Wednesday, March 7, at 7 p.m., for its regular monthly meeting. This is set for The Idaho County Veterans and Community Outreach Center, 318 E. Main St. Call Don Owen, Post Adjutant, at 208-983-1191.

Dollar A Month Club to meet at Grangeville Senior Citizens Center March 9

GRANGEVILLE – The Grangeville Senior Citizens Center Dollar A Month Club will meet the second Friday in March (March 9) to conduct business and elect new officers. This will take place during the noon lunch time at the center.

Dodgeball tournament set for this Saturday at GEMS

GRANGEVILLE – Save the date for Saturday, March 10, when nearly a dozen dodgeball teams will meet for a Round Robin tournament at Grangeville Elementary Middle School’s big gym, starting at 9 a.m.

The event is sponsored by the GEMS PTA and will include players 14 and older. Prizes will be awarded not only for winning teams but also creative costuming. The public is encouraged to attend and cost to get in is $3 per adult and $1 per student. Concessions will be available throughout the day.

Proceeds from the event will go to a variety of GEMS projects including technology updates and water fountains.

Bingo Family Day is March 10 in Kamiah

KAMIAH – Bingo Family Day is set for this Saturday, March 10, 1 to 3 p.m., at the American Legion Hall in Kamiah, 618 Main Street. This will be held 1 to 3 p.m.; doors open at 12:30 p.m. Cost is $5 per person for a 10-game set. Kids must be accompanied by parents. Refreshments available.

GHS senior projects on display tonight

GRANGEVILLE – The community is invited to stop by Grangeville High School tonight, Wednesday, March 7, and see the GHS class of 2018 senior project displays between 6 and 8 p.m.

‘Miniature Madness’ sale is March 10

WHITE BIRD — The March Miniature Madness Show and Sale will be held Saturday, March 10, at Hoot’s Cafe in White Bird, Idaho from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is an excellent opportunity to pick up a special painting at bargain price. All items are $50 or less and all art is 11”x 14” or smaller. There will also be some craft items made by the artists. This is a member show.

GHS class of 2018 to hold yard sale, breakfast March 17, 18

GRANGEVILLE — GHS Class of 2018 Senior Fun Night will hold a yard sale Saturday, March 17, and will continue through the Senior Breakfast at the Eagles Sunday, March 18. A baked food sale will also be held the 18th. Donations for the yard sale can be dropped off at 427 East North 3rd Street (front of the shop anytime). March 9 set for GOP Lincoln Day Dinner

GREENCREEK – The annual Lincoln Day Dinner will be held Friday, March 9, at the Greencreek Community Hall. The event starts with a 5 p.m. social hour and silent auction, dinner at 6 and a forum for the five candidates for lieutenant governor at 7 p.m. Candidates for state through local offices will also be introduced. Free workshop on disease set for March 14

WHITE BIRD — The Partnership for Healthy Communities will be offering a free workshop on Chronic Disease Self-Management in White Bird beginning March 14 from noon to 2:30 p.m. (PST) and continuing on the following Wednesdays for a total of six weeks. Clearwater Meal Center luncheon set for today

CLEARWATER – The Clearwater Meal Center’s next luncheon is set for today, Wednesday, March. 7, noon. Meals are served the first and third Wednesdays of each month at the Clearwater Baptist Church.
