Cottonwood News: Lincoln Day dinner is this Friday

— U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R-ID), chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, has named Advanced Welding and Steel of Grangeville, Idaho as the “Small Business of the Month” for February 2018. Advanced Welding and Steel will be recognized in the Congressional Record of the Senate.

Ryan Uhlenkott, Owner and President of Advanced Welding and Steel, founded the company in 1998 with just one welder mounted on the back of a pickup truck. Today, the company delivers its products across the Western United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. Congratulations to Ryan, Heather and family.

Friday, March 9 is the date set for the annual Lincoln Day Dinner which will be held at Greencreek Community Hall. The event starts with a 5 p.m social hour and silent auction, dinner at 6 p.m., and a forum for the five candidates for lieutenant governor at 7 p.m. Get tickets ($25 each) or donate items for the silent auction by contacting any committee member or Donna Wassmuth at or 208-962-3561. Tickets may also be purchased at the door. If you would like to be a sponsor for this event, you may buy a table for $500 and bring nine people with you.

The Greencreek Altar Society Yard Sale is scheduled for March 17. We hope to see you there!

The Haiti Team will host a Taco Feed fund-raiser Tuesday, March 21! Mark your calendar. To be held at KC Hall in Cottonwood from 5-7:30 p.m.

Lenten Penance Services: Assumption on March 8 at 7 p.m.; St. Mary’s, Cottonwood on March 21 at 7 p.m. Other Lenten Penance Service in the Deanery at 7 p.m.: Grangeville March 27; Nezperce-March 28. There will be adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Father Paul will be hearing confessions At St. Anthony’s in Greencreek on Thursday, March 15, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
