Wind blowing in 2014 prior to the primaries, I waited in a parking lot following a meet and greet with Russ Fulcher. I wanted a conversation with the man approaching me. I was working with a candidate opposing Russ and I wanted Russ to clarify a decision that he made as a state senator.
For this talk, I had learned many things about Russ. I learned that he was a family man, adept at international business, been an advocate for many conservative issues then as he continues to be. The sole thing that led me to that moment was the only differing factor between my candidate and Russ. Both wanted to shrink government as well as its grasp on the state and its citizens, wanted a better solution to healthcare than the ACA, active fighters for the unborn, staunch supporters of the people’s right to keep and bear arms, ready to boom the Idaho economy with realistic plans of financial growth. The one difference was what drove me to the event and was found to be what drives me to support Russ now, his humility. He admitted a mistake to me that day. He stood facing me in the literal wind and rain stating his case, also stating that it wouldn’t happen again. Saying “I won’t let you down,” looking in my eyes. Then, I had a hard time believing it. Over the next few years he proved that skepticism wrong.
To this day he fights for the things that those with conservative ideals hold dear. He has held these beliefs without wavering. This is why I do and will continue to support Russ Fulcher. Couple that with the conversations I have had with him and his family and you start to see the picture that you can’t help but be thankful for knowing them. Russ is a man who truly is in it for his constituents.
As he told me on that day in the wind and rain, “I won’t let you down.”
This is why I support Russ Fulcher for Congress.
