According to an Idaho County Sheriff’s Office release, the morning of Feb. 23, Hoots Café in White Bird reported being burglarized overnight, and an unspecified amount of cash and business checks were missing.

Idaho County Deputy Scott Paulsen and detectives responded and collected evidence as well as video of the burglary. Subsequently, arrest warrants were secured for Dewitt and Nunez, both on charges of felony burglary and grand theft, and two counts of misdemeanor petit theft.

Following the pair’s arrest, BCP assisted ICSO Detective Sgt. Brian Hewson with a search of the vehicle where additional evidence was located.
