Animal House to meet March 25

GRANGEVILLE – Animal House 4-H Club will meet Sunday, March 25, 3 p.m., at Grangeville Health and Rehabilitation.

Rockwell named to fall 2017 dean’s list

IRVING, TEXAS — Catherine Rockwell, a Grangeville High School graduate, was one of nearly 450 University of Dallas students named to the fall 2017 dean’s list for earning a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher. Rockwell is majoring in biochemistry. She is the daughter of James and Laurie Rockwell of Grangeville.

Drawing contest set for Kamiah

KAMIAH — The Youth Advisory Board (YAB) is hosting a drawing contest for Kamiah and Kooskia. Upriver Youth Leadership Council (UYLC) and YAB will display all of the artwork that will be entered. Art submissions are to be turned in anytime between today through Monday, April 16, for display, at the office, 413 Main Street, Kamiah. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m, Monday through Friday. If possible, each participant should have the art piece framed, and bring an easel (if one is accessible). Starting Monday, April 16, through Friday, April 20, all members from Kamiah and Kooskia can vote for what art piece they love the most. Join in Friday, April 20, 6:30 p.m., for light refreshments. Winners will be announced at 7 p.m. There will be one winner for each of the following categories: K-3rd, 4th-8th, 9th-12th and adults (19-plus years).

Chronic Disease Self-Management Program to start April 16

GRANGEVILLE — The Partnership for Healthy Communities in conjunction with CHAS is offering the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program April 16 – May 21, Monday, 5-7:30 p.m., at the United Methodist Church, 404 W Main St, Grangeville. Bowling is March 24 at Camas Lanes

GRANGEVILLE – A 9 pin “No-tap” bowling tournament is set for Saturday, March 24, at Camas Lanes. (Get nine pins on your first ball and it counts as a strike.) Bowl three games from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Entry fee per person is $15. Prize fund payback is 100 percent. This is a fund-raiser for ICARE (Cancer Assistance and Recovery Effort) which helps people in local communities who are actively receiving treatment for cancer. American Legion to host birthday party March 24

GRANGEVILLE — The American Legion Post 37 birthday party and community awards will be held Saturday, March 24, 3-5 p.m., at the Idaho County Vets Center, 318 E. Main. The public is welcome to honor those in the community who serve. For information contact post adjutant Donald Owen at 208-983-1191.

Cross Country Cowboy Fellowship will meet Saturday, March 24

GRANGEVILLE — Cross Country Cowboy Fellowship will be meeting Saturday, March 24, 6 p.m., in the Porter’s fellowship barn at 43 Whitetail Drive just south of Grangeville. A chili tasting will take place for the potluck. Bring a favorite pot of chili or a side dish and bring a friend. Call 208-983-0112.

Ice cream social to bid farewell to Monsebroten

GRANGEVILLE — An ice cream social and farewell open house will be held for Beth Monsebroten on Sunday, March 25, 2 -5 p.m., at the Idaho County Veterans Center at 318 East Main, Grangeville.

Join in to say farewell to Monsebroten, the health care provider at the Grangeville VA Clinic. Ice cream sundaes and other desserts, coffee and ice tea will be served. There will be live music. Other beverages are available for purchase.

‘Kick the Sugar Habit’ presentations on tap

GRANGEVILLE – Two “Kick the Sugar Habit” presentations are set for Grangeville at The Gym: March 26 and April 9, each at 6 p.m., with Beth Davis as instructor. Classes are free of charge.

Kids invited to finger-paint March 23

KAMIAH — Upriver Youth Leadership Council (UYLC) is hosting a free finger painting event for grades kindergarten through grade four. This will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m., Friday, March 23, at the UYLC Office located at 413 Main Street, Kamiah. Materials needed for this event will be provided. A parent or responsible sibling must be with each child who wants to participate. There will be treats provided after the little artists are finished creating their masterpieces.
