The Prairie girls didn’t allow a run during the first three innings, and scored 20 during the second inning of what became a 32-2 walkover March 15 at Culdesac.
Starting pitcher Leah Higgins allowed just three hits, while the PHS hitters smacked 13 in their season opener.
Josie Peery smashed a double and a home run, and Noelle Uhlenkott (3) and India Peery (2) both had multi-hit games.
An eight-run first put the final outcome out of Culdesac’s reach, and the second-inning eruption put any remaining doubts to rest. Also booking hits for Prairie were Sydney Bruegeman, Kodie Tidwell, Madison Shears, Sierah Poxleitner and Alexis Hiler.
Prairie was scheduled in Lapwai March 20, and is set to play Troy in Lewiston at 3:30 p.m. this Thursday, March 22. A doubleheader with Kellogg is slated to begin at noon Saturday, March 24, in Lewiston.
