Tahoe cemetery cleanup is Thursday, May 10

TAHOE RIDGE – The Tahoe Mountain Rest Cemetery will have a cleanup day Thursday, May 10, 8 a.m. If it rains, it will be held May 21. Bring weed eaters; the cemetery will furnish gasoline. Call Lewis Ulmer at 208-926-4732.

Enrollment open for Cornerstone Christian

GRANGEVILLE – Cornerstone Christian Learning Center at the Grangeville Church of the Nazarene is accepting enrollments for the coming school year, 2018-19. Students in preschool through third grade will be taught at the school which is located at 515 W. North Second Street (back lot entrance).

Clearwater Meal Center luncheon set for May 19

CLEARWATER – The Clearwater Meal Center’s next luncheon is set for Wednesday, May 19, noon. Chicken enchiladas and rice, salad and dessert will be served. Meals are served the first and third Wednesdays of each month at the Clearwater Baptist Church. No charge for the luncheon, $5 donation appreciated when possible. All are welcome. Call 208-926-7776.

Summit Kindergarteners Plant Trees: Contributed photo: Summit Academy kindergarten students traveled to Cottonwood Butte with members of the Idaho Department of Lands from Craigmont to plant trees for Arbor Day. They were thrilled to have a nice sunny day for their trip. Each kindergarten student planted at least eight trees.

SPPS open house is Thursday, May 10

GRANGEVILLE – Sts. Peter and Paul School will host an open house Thursday, May 10. Tours start at 6:30 p.m. with the open house at 7 p.m. The school is accepting applications for all grades, preschool through eighth. Call 208-983-2162.

Summer Concert Series set for July in Grangeville

GRANGEVILLE – Performers for the 10th annual Grangeville Summer Concert Series have been scheduled.

Concerts are held each Thursday night, 6 p.m., in the Grangeville Pioneer (city) Park. Bring your own lawn chairs, blankets and picnic dinner. Dogs are not allowed in the park. Donations will be taken to help with costs of the series.

The first concert will be with Grangeville’s own Vintage Youth on July 12. July 19 will feature The Hankers from Oaksdale, Wash.; July 26 will showcase Muzzy Braun out of Stanley; and series will end with Dodgy Mountain Men from Missoula.

The series is sponsored by Grangeville Arts, Inc., and the Grangeville Chamber of Commerce.

Dessert at the museum set for May 12 in Clearwater

CLEARWATER — The friends of the Clearwater-Elk City Wagon Road are hosting a “Dessert at the Museum” on Saturday, May 12, 1-4 p.m. All are welcome. The museum will be open, and coffee, tea, and desserts will be served. The Wagon Road museum is a step into the past which was opened five years ago in the Clearwater Grange hall in beautiful downtown Clearwater.

Nezperce citywide yard sale is May 12

NEZPERCE — Nezperce City- wide Yard Sale Day is Saturday, May 12. Yard sales, fund-raisers and Lions Burgers all begin at 8 a.m. Maps are available at each sale and at The Only Store.

GEMS talent show set for May 14; GHS, GEMS concerts are May 15, 16

GRANGEVILLE – The GEMS Got Talent Show is set for Monday, May 14, 6:30 p.m., at Grangeville Elementary Middle School in the multipurpose room. The community is invited.

Grangeville High School will host its end-of-year concert Tuesday, May 15, 7 p.m. GEMS concert is set for Wednesday, May 16, 7 p.m.

Mining district meeting scheduled for May 12

HARPSTER — Tenmile Mining District will be holding its monthly meeting on Saturday, May 12, at Harpster RV Park at 2 p.m. Items to be discussed; upcoming dredging permits from IDWR, Forest Service and EPA, Lode and Placer Mining Issues and upcoming legislative events.

Family Fun Day is May 12 at Eagles Hall

GRANGEVILLE — All are invited to a Spring Family Fun Afternoon on Saturday, May 12, 2-4 p.m., at the Eagles Hall, 218 North C Street. This event is sponsored by Veterans Service Organization 40 & 8 and Auxiliary La Femmes. Proceeds to nursing training scholarships and children and youth fund.

Tickets are $10 per person for all-you-can-eat treats and ice cream pus 10 free raffle tickets or $25 for a family of any size, all-you-can-eat and 25 free raffle tickets. There will be a ticket raffle with drawing at 3:15 p.m. and a jewelry store selling costume jewelry for one ticket for each item all afternoon. Mother’s Day ice cream social benefits locals

GRANGEVILLE — Everyone is welcome to an ice cream social with a ticket auction and concert that celebrates Mother’s Day and benefits two local organizations. The event will take place on Saturday, May 12, from 3 to 5 p.m., at the Idaho County Veterans Outreach and Community Center, 318 East Main.

Admission is $10 for adults (12-plus), $5 for kids 6 to 11, and youngsters younger than 6 are free. Admission includes ice cream sundae and dessert bar plus 10 tickets for the ticket auction. Additional tickets will be available for purchase.

Auction items include baked goods, home items, trinkets and treasures that make great gifts for Mom.

Enjoy swing time piano and songs by GEMS 6th grade singers. There will also be Quilts of Valor on display.

Proceeds benefit Camas Prairie Quilts of Valor and American Legion scholarship programs. Call 208-983-9387.

Teen talent show upcoming in Kamiah

KAMIAH — The Youth Advisory Board (YAB) is hosting a talent show night on Saturday, May 12, from 6 to 8 p.m., for all ages. The show will be held at the Kamiah Elementary multi-purpose room, (906 12th St, Kamiah, ID). It’s an “anything goes” event. Thursday, May 10, is the deadline date to sign up.

GOP convention delegates chosen May 23

GRANGEVILLE — The Republican Party will be selecting delegates and alternates to the Idaho Republican Party State Convention in Pocatello, June 28-30. The delegate selection meeting will be at the Super 8 Motel in Grangeville on Wednesday, May 23, starting at 6 p.m.

The requirements to be a delegate or alternate are being a registered Republican in Idaho County and signing a statement stating ability and intention to attend the convention.

Yard sale on tap for Clearwater June 9

CLEARWATER — The Clearwater Grange will hold a community yard sale Saturday, June 9. All Clearwater area residents are encouraged to participate. Set up a sale at your own property or rent a table at the Clearwater Grange Hall for $10. A map will be distributed for all locations if you sign up by May 15. The maps may be picked up at the Grange Hall the morning of the sale, June 9th.
