— Happy Mother’s Day to all you mothers. May you spend the day your favorite way. For me it will be going to the woods to hunt mushrooms with the kids and grandkids. Warm rains this week should make them grow.

May 16th Bishop Peter Christensen of the Diocese of Boise will be here for confirmation of students in the Tri-Parish area. It will take place at St. Anthony’s Church in Greencreek at 7 p.m. Bishop Peter will also have a mass at Summit Academy that same day at 11 a.m. to celebrate the school being recognized as a Catholic School. This is the result of many people working hard over the last 20 years. I want to especially recognize the people who had a big part in getting the school started.

On May 20, the seniors from Prairie High School and Summit Academy will be honored at the 8 a.m. Mass at St. Mary’s Church in Cottonwood. All seniors are invited to this special Mass. There will be a reception following the liturgy.

The Cottonwood Riding Club royalty received a grant to help pay for a cultivator to keep the arena in good shape. It was purchased from St. John Hardware, who gave them an amazing discount. The grant came from Northwest Farm Credit Services in the amount of $1,000. Good job, girls!

The Republican Central Committee will meet on May 23 at 6 p.m., at the Super 8 meeting room. It is important for all new and old members to be at this meeting. There will be election of officers. Delegates will be selected for the convention in Pocatello on June 29-30.
