Encourage people be involved in meetings

Letter to the Editor

I read the article from the new CEO of Syringa Hospital [May 2 issue]. There was a profound difference in the way things are explained between a man who was born and raised in Idaho County, and one who was not.

I know the hardworking people of Idaho County. We are hardworking, honest and intelligent people. Many of us have family ties here that are generations old. We also like to be part of any decision-making process. Decisions by elected officials are meant to be a direct result of the citizens they were elected to represent, not decisions based on philosophy or feelings of a few. We like to be spoken to with facts, not wording that sounds like it came right out of a handbook on political correctness. I think the citizens of Idaho County deserve more than that.

I encourage the people of Idaho County to get involved in the board meetings at Syringa and be informed of what is happening behind their “closed” doors. It’s important to help them make intellectual decisions, not emotional decisions.
