Tahoe cemetery cleanup is Friday, May 18

TAHOE RIDGE – The Tahoe Mountain Rest Cemetery will have a cleanup day Friday, May 18, 8 a.m. If it rains, it will be held May 21. Bring weed eaters; the cemetery will furnish gasoline. Call Lewis Ulmer at 208-926-4732.

Clearwater Water District meeting set for May 19

CLEARWATER – Clearwater Water District will be holding a public informational meeting Saturday, May 19, at the Clearwater Grange Hall, Main Street, Clearwater, at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

The water district is beginning to start work on the second phase of the water system upgrade with a targeted completion date of October 2018. Location of service connections, costs, customer benefits and responsibilities, and increasing customers are some of the topics to be discussed.

CCLC program is May 23

GRANGEVILLE – The Cornerstone Christian Learning Center will host its end of the year program at the Grangeville Church of the Nazarene Wednesday, May 23, 6 p.m. The church is located at 515 W. N. 2nd Street.

Bingo is in Kamiah this Friday

KAMIAH – American Legion Post No. 75 will host Bingo this Friday, May 18, 7 p.m., at the Kamiah American Legion Hall, located at 618 Main Street.

Enjoy visiting, playing Bingo and concessions while supporting local veterans.

VBS on tap for June 3-7 at Grangeville Gospel Tabernacle

GRANGEVILLE – “Shipwrecked – Rescues by Jesus,” is the vacation Bible school theme at Grangeville Gospel Tabernacle, 613 North State Street. Classes for ages 4 through sixth grade will begin Sunday evening, June 3, and run through Thursday evening, June 7. Time is 6 to 8:30 p.m. each night.

VBS, teen Bible study set for June 11-15 in Cottonwood

COTTONWOOD — June 11-15 are the dates for Emmanuel Baptist Church’s vacation Bible school.

Grab your megaphones, lace up your cleats, and tune up your horn. Join in for a week of preparing for life’s big game at Game On! Kids will begin each day at the pep rally, then gather at the field house where they will be equipped to dig deep into God’s Word. Each day kids will make crafts, play games, enjoy snacks, sing songs and learn about missions.

The church is located at 404 Foster Street, Cottonwood. Children age 4 through those in sixth grade are admitted free from 9 a.m. to noon each day, Monday, June 11, through Friday, June 15.

During the same week teenagers can experience Game On! with Bible study and special activities planned just for them from 6:30-8 p.m. Call Pastor Dan at 208-962-2407.

Bracelet, slime making set for May 18

KAMIAH — Upriver Youth Leadership Council (UYLC) will be hosting a night of bracelet and slime making for grades K-6, Friday, May 18, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at 413 Main Street, Kamiah. This activity is free of charge. If the weather is warm, everything will be made outside. UYLC looks forward to having many participants join in. A parent must accompany their child to this event if the child is younger than 9 years of age. Music and refreshments will be provided.

GOP convention delegates chosen May 23

GRANGEVILLE — The Republican Party will be selecting delegates and alternates to the Idaho Republican Party State Convention in Pocatello, June 28-30. The delegate selection meeting will be at the Super 8 Motel in Grangeville on Wednesday, May 23, starting at 6 p.m.

The requirements to be a delegate or alternate are being a registered Republican in Idaho County and signing a statement stating ability and intention to attend the convention.

VBS set for Grangeville Church of the Nazarene

GRANGEVILLE – Mark your calendars for June 18-21 when Grangeville Church of the Nazarene will have its annual vacation Bible school. More information as the date draws closer.

Some county recycling centers to be closed Memorial Day weekend

Idaho County Recycling collection sites at Cottonwood and Grangeville will be closed Saturday, May 26, so volunteers can enjoy the full Memorial Day weekend. Collection will resume in June. The Kooskia facility will be open as usual. The steering committee members of ICR are currently asking patrons to reduce their use of plastics as there is currently no market for that commodity. For information about recycling markets in general, ask any volunteer at the three locations (Grangeville, Cottonwood, Kooskia) or call 208-983-2843 or 208-983-2821.

Clearwater yard sale is set for June 9

CLEARWATER — The Clearwater Grange 1st annual Community Yard sale is scheduled for June 9. All Clearwater area residents are encouraged to participate.

A map will be distributed for all locations if you sign up by May 17. You can set up your sale at your property or rent a table at the grange hall for $10. The maps may be picked up at the grange hall the morning of the sale, June 9.

Community prayer walk set for May 20

GRANGEVILLE  — There will be a community prayer walk for schools, teachers, students and administration Sunday, May 20, 3 p.m.

This will start at Grangeville Elementary Middle School, continue to Sts. Peter and Paul School and move on to Grangeville High School.
