GRANGEVILLE A familiar Idaho County face is ready to help you purchase or sell a home or property.
Cody Edwards completed school, became licensed, and a month ago joined United Country Real Estate (Musick and Sons) as an agent.
Edwards was born and raised in Grangeville and graduated from Grangeville High School in 1999. From there he went to Boise State University on a track scholarship where he studied exercise science.
“Then I had a child and entered into the ‘real world,’” he said.
Edwards went on to work for the U.S. Forest Service for the next five-plus years and served on a hot shot crew out of Missoula.
“I loved it. It was very physically demanding, but I had the opportunity to travel all over the Northwest,” he said.
He met his wife, Bernadette, while training in Kooskia and they married in 2005, not too long after moving back to the area.
“It was mainly for family and jobs – but also because I love this area – especially the rivers,” he said. “It’s definitely where I want to be.”
He spent the next decade in the construction field as a general contractor, building homes and completing remodels. Most recently he worked for three years as a District Sales Manager for Genuine Parts Company where he was responsible for more than $30 million sales quota in his territory.

“I’ve always had an attraction to real estate which came naturally from the construction viewpoint,” Edwards said.
“I believe I have the personality as well as the sales background to be a good agent,” he added. “I want what’s best for a person or family – to make sure the area is where they want to be, to make sure the property and surrounding area really offer everything they desire.”
Edwards went to work for United Country because, he said, he likes their national marketing presence and their local commitments.
“Here in Idaho, I think we’re selling a lifestyle as much as properties and houses,” he said. “My philosophy aligns with that of United Country and the Musicks.”
Edwards said he is glad to be able to be in the area and be involved in the community where he coaches youth baseball and enjoys playing softball, basketball and volleyball. He and his wife have four children: Derek, 17; Iseyda, 16; Eliana, 12; and Radek, 6. Bernadette is a teacher at Grangeville Elementary Middle School, and the family enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including rafting, fishing, hunting, camping, skiing and scuba diving.
