Ferdinand man dies of crash injuries; ISP investigating incident



— A Ferdinand man died of injuries suffered in a single-vehicle crash south of Lapwai last month, and Idaho State Police is continuing its investigation.

Kenneth W. Simmons, 58, succumbed to his injures April 22 at 4:08 p.m., according to ISP, which was recently informed of the death by the family.

The crash was reported April 8 at 10:12 p.m., according to ISP, when Simmons, driving a 1997 Ford F-150 southbound left the roadway, striking several trees in the process. Simmons was not wearing a seat belt and was taken from the scene to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewison and later flown to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.
