— With an early deadline, I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and now are ready for our little town to come alive in three weeks for White Bird Days and Rodeo.

Dates to remember: Food Bank pickup will be on June 7 at noon.

On Saturday, June 2, you are invited to join in on the annual “Just for the Hill of It” bicycle challenge. Preregister by May 30th by visiting the event calendar on syringahospital.org. You can also register the day of the event. Registration is at 8 a.m. at Hammer Creek Recreational Park and the ride begins at 9 a.m., going through White Bird, up the old hill to where the old grade meets with the new Hwy. 95. The ride benefits Syringa Hospice.

It’s that time again to start thinking of your parade entries for the 40th annual White Bird Days, with the theme being “Mardi Gras - Celebrating 40 years of White Bird Days”, you can come up with some really fun and interesting ideas. Danielle has the parade forms ready so call her at 208-839-2457 or email her at blondechicka226@gmail.com. Walt and Wendy will be our parade announcers this year. Kate Buck will be singing the National Anthem. Many activities are on tap, something for everyone.

Duane and Sharon Sickels will be the grand marshals and you can find their bio on the rodeo website, whitebirdrodeo.com along with their Queen Kaylee Page. In the next weeks, I will have a complete rundown on everything, so keep watching. You can also find some on the Chamber website.

Birthday wishes go out to: Steve Kernutt, Denis Long (27th), Justin Meachum, Del Wadsworth, Joe Anderson (29th), Kristy Beckstead (30th).

In Memory of: LaVonne Wright (28th), Roy Farmer, Sr., Ada Wilson, Zelda Eller Gordon (June 2nd).

Anniversary wishes go to Frank & Marlene Mignerey (31st).

Thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Josephine Killgore. You can send contributions in Josephine’s name to the White Bird Community Library at 245 River Road, White Bird, ID 83554 or a charity of your choice.

TidBits: I will not be putting in the tidbits for the next couple of weeks, so I can keep you updated on the White Bird Days and Rodeo.
