Swinging For The Outfield

The inaugural Clash of the Quacks softball tournament last Saturday, Sept. 8, pitted teams from regional hospitals and raised $1,000 to benefit Idaho and Clearwater counties search and rescue teams. Participating were Syringa Hospital in Grangeville, St. Mary’s Hospital and Clinics in Cottonwood, and Clearwater Valley Hospital in Orofino. Event champion was St. Mary’s. Winners of the homerun derby male and female categories were Dustin Elliot of Syringa Hospital and Anna Wren of St. Mary’s Hospital, respectively.

Among the day’s participants was Cindy Higgins of Cottonwood, with Syringa Hospice, who is moments from belting the cover off this ball and sending it across the field.
