Hunter tagged with $357 trespass charge

Michael Hileman had hunted on Bureau of Land Management ground in the Kamiah-area for three decades, the Idaho Press Tribune reported in October, but was hit with a trespassing infraction after a hunt with his stepdaughter this past season. Under Idaho’s trespassing law – new this July – he faced the prospect of being jailed six months and fined $1,000. After a guilty plea earlier this month, in the Idaho County Magistrate Court’s Dec. 13 disposition, he was ordered to pay $356.50 – a $300 fine and $56.50 in court costs.
