— Fewer skiers visited Snowhaven Ski & Tubing Area Dec. 26 than manager Scott Wasem said has been typical for the day after Christmas, which he chalked up to visitors having to get back to work immediately after the Tuesday holiday.

Still, the facility has sold 900-1,000 tickets so far this season, with more than 300 of those having been booked on Dec. 26 and more than 200 on Dec. 27.

“The numbers are down a bit,” Wasem said. “When there’s not a lot of snow on the ground in town and none in Lewiston, people may not think we’re open.”

Snowhaven will be open 10-4 p.m. daily through Jan. 6, and will be open 10-4 p.m. on weekends and federal holidays through the end of the season.
