Two arrests made last week in connection to a series of reported burglaries in the Selway Road area are part of an ongoing investigation into additional incidents – including a house fire that may be related.
Charged are Jeremy D. Watson, 39, of Lewiston, for unlawful entry and possession of paraphernalia; and Bruce E. Finnell Jr., 24, of Kooskia, for two outstanding Idaho County warrants, burglary, and malicious injury to property.
The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office (ICSO) has been investigating recent Selway Road burglaries reported between Dec. 31 and Jan. 2.
ICSO also stated a suspicious structure fire, reported Dec. 31, is being investigated by the agency and the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
Information was unavailable from ICSO on the fire, reported around 10:30 p.m. at 137 Swiftwater Road. The structure fire occurred out of a fire district, according to Mark Anderson, chief for the Kooskia Volunteer Fire Department; however, “as a courtesy, we responded,” he said. Units were cancelled, he continued, as personnel from Lowell QRU reported the structure had already burned to the foundation and there was no danger of the fire spreading. No injuries were reported.
According to ICSO, investigation is ongoing, as Watson and Finnell are suspects in other incidents in both its jurisdiction and others.
