Mindy Leach and Kenneth Becker of Ferdinand are the parents of a baby son. Randal Everett Becker was born Friday, June 23, 2017, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Cottonwood. He weighed seven pounds, 15 ounces, and was 19-3/4 inches long.

Obituary: Wayne C. MacGregor, 91, Grangeville, Idaho

Wayne C. MacGregor Jr., 91, a longtime resident of Grangeville, Idaho, died May 21, 2017, surrounded by his children. Wayne was born May 27, 1925, in Spokane, Wash., to Wayne C. and Estella Smith MacGregor. He was raised in Spokane and graduated from North Central High School in May of 1943, where he excelled academically and as an athlete, especially football.

A memorial service for Walter Shjelfo, 92, will be held at 10 a.m. on July 29, 2017, in Dickinson, N. D., at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 146 6th Avenue West, with military honors being presented by the American Legion Post #3 Honor Guard after the service. Burial will follow at the Dickinson Cemetery, and there will be a reception at the Dickinson Elks Lodge.

Former commissioner Harry Owens dies in crash into Clearwater

Funeral service on Saturday, May 20

Funeral services are later this week for Harry E. Owens who died last week in a vehicle crash into the Clearwater River. Owens, 89, of Grangeville, was a former Idaho County Commissioner who served five terms (1987-2002) on the board.
