Evelyn Ogden to celebrate 102nd birthday with open house

RESERVATION LINE ROAD — “I don’t have any secrets,” Evelyn Ogden shook her head. “I never in my life dreamed I would live this long.” Ogden will turn 102 years old Saturday, March 17. She was born in 1916 in Harrison, Idaho. “My grandparents ran a lodge there in Harrison,” she said March 8 from her home halfway between Cottonwood and Ferdinand. She lives next door to her nephew, Kimron Torgerson, and his wife, Daryl.

Women’s retreat set for March 17

Centennial Evangelical Free Church, at 408 N. College, will be hosting a mini seminar for women on Saturday, March 17. This will be held in two sessions: 9 to 10:30 a.m. and 11 to noon. A light brunch will be served between the two sessions.

A local woman with a longtime presence was recently selected to be included in the forthcoming Trademark Women of Distinction Honors Edition. Hall was selected for “demonstrating dedication, leadership and professional excellence,” the press release read.

White Bird News: Killgore Motors opens

Spring isn’t officially here until the 20th, but this last weekend was great! Daffodils are blooming, rock chucks are out sunning themselves, and the birds have returned. Oh, what a pleasant sound! Update on the Fire Department, they have been looking at a new and bigger fire truck and are wanting to build a new building for city hall and to house this truck, but they need your help. This project will cost in the area of $30,000, so they are asking if anyone would like to help in any way, contact Brian Lowe or Rob Beeson.

Clearwater Valley News: Valley Singers set Easter cantata dates

Spring is the time for singing, dancing and theater! This week the Clearwater Valley High School is presenting a musical version of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella the Enchanted Edition. The CV theater program has performed spring musicals for the past three years since Mrs. Elizabeth Nuxoll began teaching music at the school. Nuxoll enjoys directing musicals since they are fun and lively. The larger cast sizes in musical theater allow more students to be involved. Twenty-six high school students form the cast and crew. In addition, shop and art teachers and their students constructed and painted the sets. Several parents are helping behind the scenes with costumes and props making this show a community affair.
