CEDA celebrates 50th

During the Clearwater Economic Development Association’s (CEDA) 50th anniversary celebration Friday, April 13, in Lewiston, at the Nez Perce County Fair Building, area individuals were recognized for their community service. Some of the honorees are no longer alive; however, their service to the community lives on. One of those honored was former County Commissioner Joseph “Joe” Leitch, who died Aug. 31, 2017.

It's Your Business: Crabtree to speak at chamber meeting

Grangeville Chamber of Commerce will host its quarterly meeting this Thursday, April 19, at the Super 8 meeting room. Senator Carl Crabtree of Grangeville will be the special speaker. Social time is 5:30 p.m. with a potluck format; bring finger foods to share. Utensils and plates and napkins will be provided. Bring your own beverage. Social time starts at 5:30 p.m. with the meeting commencing at 6 p.m. A Q&A session will follow.

Murphy recognized by IRWA

Idaho Rural Water Association recently presented Sandy Murphy with the administrator of the year award at the annual spring conference March 22. The Administrator of the Year Award recognizes an administrative employee for outstanding performance in office management and procedures. To be eligible for this award, nominees must be affiliated with an IRWA system member in good standing with full voting rights.

It's Your Business: ‘Relax After Taxes’ April 17; Celebrate Friday the 13th at Oscar’s

Kooskia clinic offers medical staff five days a week

After opening in 2002 as a part-time clinic, Syringa’s Kooskia Clinic is now operating with medical providers five days a week. “It’s exciting to see how the clinic has grown and expanded,” said Nathan Winder, PA-C, who has been at the clinic for the past eight and one-half years. He sees patients there three days a week.

Wooden dog art reception on tap

The Habit will host a children’s art reception from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 7. The public is invited to view wooden sculptures painted by local students. The children are invited to attend and receive recognition for their work. There is no fee to attend.

Casey journeys home to take Avista management job

Matthew Casey has come full circle. The new Avista electric district manager in Grangeville took his post in November 2017; however, his roots are much deeper than a few months. Casey was born in California and raised in Yuba City until the fifth grade when his family moved to Kamiah.
