Loren E. Hill, 88
Dad was born March 1, 1925, the youngest of three brothers to be born to George and Estella Hill in Escalon, Calif. He passed away Oct. 26, 2013, in Lewiston, Idaho.
Dad met Mom at the Candy Kitchen in Columbia, Calif., saying she had the prettiest red hair. They had been married 64 years.
He served in the Navy during WWII and the Air Force during the Korean War. After the war Dad returned home to California and a career with California Division of Forestry where he fought wildland fire for 35 years.
He is survived by his wife, Loree; daughter, Harriet (Ken) Stump of Grangeville, Idaho; son, Bill Hill of Lewiston, Idaho; grandchildren, Kyle (Jenn) Stump of Driggs, Idaho, Patrick (Courtney) Hill of Lewiston, Idaho, and Jeffrey Hill of Santa Barbara, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Ed and George, and an infant grandson. Burial will be held at a later date at Burwood Cemetery in Escalon, Calif.
