Emma Lee Hickman, 58, passed away March 26, 2014, at her home in White Bird, Idaho, after a long battle with cancer. Emma was born May 16, 1955, to Clarence and Viola McReynolds in Grangeville, Idaho.
Emma grew up in White Bird and attended school there. She graduated in 1973 from Riggins High School. After high school, Emma lived several places: Boise, Council, Elk City; but always returning home to the Salmon River.
Emma was a cook for many years. She also outfitted, worked at the sawmill, did some relief work in Florida, and many other things. She was a hard worker at whatever she did. She enjoyed gardening and the mountains. She loved camping, hunting and mushroom hunting.
Emma is survived by her parents; her sons, Charlie, Eric and Michael; her daughter, Anna; seven grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Mac, in 1986. Emma is loved and will be missed by all.
Graveside services will be held at the White Bird Cemetery, Thursday, April 3, with a potluck to follow at Hoot’s Cafe. Services are under the direction of Blackmer Funeral Home, Grangeville. Send condolences to the family to Blackmerfuneralhome.com.
