JoAnn L. Johnson, 58, of Grangeville, Idaho, peacefully passed away in her sleep Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at her home.
She was born Nov. 11, 1955, in Mora, Minn. She grew up in Minnesota where she met Lanny Johnson and moved to Idaho in 1974. They were married in 1977 in Grangeville.
They lived in Elk City until 1994, then moved down on the Southfork River where they opened the Southfork Station.
She enjoyed fishing on the lakes, huckleberry picking, mushroom hunting, baking with the grandkids and visiting with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Sonya, and husband, Cole Horrocks of Elk City; sister, Janelle of Minnesota; sister-in-law, Diane of Plummer, Idaho; brothers, Jerry, Tim and Tom of Minnesota; stepsisters, Jean, Kathy, Gloria and Michelle all of Minnesota; stepmom, Henrietta Collins-Pape of Minnesota; grandchildren, Wyatt, Dustin, Shanna Sherrer, Lance Horrocks, Jasper Thompson, Jeremiah Johnson and Jackson Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her mom and dad, Janette and Donald Collins; mom, Florence Purdy; husband, Lanny Johnson; sons, Donald, Jesse, Layne; sisters, Elaine and Carol; and brother, Ken.
There will be a memorial service Aug. 16 at the VFW Post 8311, Elk City, Idaho, at 2 p.m. with a potluck dinner to follow.
