Wayne Joseph Schnider, 64, passed away Dec. 8, 2014, at home after a three-year battle with cancer. Wayne was born Aug. 24, 1950, to Walter and Loretta Schnider of Cottonwood.
He was in the Army from Feb. 12, 1970, to Oct. 15, 1971, serving in Vietnam. He worked for Frank Keeney Logging, Woodpecker Logging, Earl Schnider Logging, Mark Duman Logging, Steve Uhlorn Logging, Bill Rae Logging, Bob Ross Logging and Riener’s Crushing.
He married Delores Gehring in 1976 and they had one daughter. They later divorced. He married Twylla Smith Dec. 14, 1981. They had three children.
He enjoyed the outdoors making firewood. He liked making things out of wood and making wooden trains. He made quilts for some of his siblings and his three younger children out of old denim jeans. He did puzzle books waiting at the doctors’ offices.
He is survived by his wife, Twylla; sons, Brian (BJ) (Shylloah) of Grangeville, Chris (Cherie White) of Clarkston; daughters, Stacey Schnider (Robert Dasenbrock) of Craigmont, Julie (Brent Sutton) of Clarkston; three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; siblings, Marvin Forsman, Victor Forsman, Marlys (Victor) Seubert, all of Lewiston, Earl (Erb) Schnider of Cottonwood, Phyllis (Chuck) Pottala of Grangeville; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Loretta; twin brothers, Dale and Dennis Forsman; brother, Eugene (Geno) Schnider; sister, Carol Bloodsworth; sisters-in-law, Connie (Marvin) Forsman and Wilma (Erb) Schnider; and niece, Marva Jean Murphy.
Memorial services were held Dec. 13.
