Robin Kay Thornton, 42, of Grangeville, Idaho, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, from injuries received in an auto accident near Ferdinand.
Robin was born March 24, 1971, in Torrance, Calif., a daughter of Russell and Bonnie Austin. They moved to Greenville, Calif., where she graduated from high school in 1989. She then attended college in Yuba City, Calif. She married James Thornton. She lived in California before moving to Grangeville in 2000. She was formerly employed at Asker’s Harvest Foods in Grangeville where she had many friends dear to her heart. She had a free and giving spirit and loved life. She loved her children and was very proud of them. She will be sorely missed by all the lives she touched.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Brandon Thornton (19) of Lewiston and Krista Thornton (17) of Grangeville; her father, Russell Austin of North Dakota; her mother, Bonnie Austin of Grangeville; her sister, Dina Cervantes of Grangeville; her aunt, Kay Probst of California; her uncle, Larry Warren of Nevada; and two nieces, one nephew and cousins.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, Feb. 8, at 12:30 p.m. at Prairie View Cemetery in Grangeville. A potluck luncheon will follow at the Eagles Hall, 218 N. C Street. Cremation was under the direction of Blackmer Funeral Home, Grangeville.
